Loi/Law 25 – it’s Origin, Components, Requirements & Timeline

The (ISC)2 Montreal Chapter is hosting a virtual presentation via ZOOM about Quebec’s new data privacy law 25 (ex Bill 64) on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

Over the next two years, the implementation of law 25 will change the privacy and data protection landscape in Quebec. Cyrille Aubergier is the CyberSecurity director at Lallemand where he leads several projects including those related to privacy and compliance. During his presentation titled “Loi/Law 25 – it’s Origin, Components, Requirements & Timeline” he will share his experience with addressing the requirements of the law.

M. Parent est président d’EVA-Technologies, fondée en 1996, et instructeur en cybersécurité à l’École Polytechnique de Montréal et à HEC Montréal. Depuis 2010, il est consultant et aide la haute direction de nombreuses organisations avec leurs programmes et leur stratégie de cybersécurité. M. Parent est particulièrement passionné par la mise en place de programmes efficaces de gestion des vulnérabilités.

Avec plus de 30 ans d’expérience et en tant que conférencier renommé, Éric partagera ses idées sur la gestion efficace des programmes de gestion des vulnérabilités. Cela inclura son point de vue, certaines stratégies et tactiques pour faire face à des défis communs tels que l’identification des actifs, la détection et la résolution des vulnérabilités.

The (ISC)² Montreal Chapter is pleased to invite you to a virtual talk titled “Vulnerability management – Avoidance, Measures and feedback” which will be presented in English by Éric Parent. The presentation will be held via ZOOM on Wednesday, 25 May 2022 at 20:00 EST.

Mr. Parent is the president of EVA-Technologies, founded in 1996, and an instructor of cybersecurity at École Polytechnique de Montréal and at HEC Montréal. Since 2010, he has been a consultant helping senior management of many organizations with their cybersecurity programs and strategy. Mr. Parent is especially passionate about the implementation of effective vulnerability management programs.

With over 30 years of experience, and as a renowned speaker, Éric will share his insights on running effective vulnerability management programs. This will include his views, some strategies and tactics on dealing with common challenges such as identification of assets, detection, and resolution of vulnerabilities.

InfoSec Conference Series BSides is Coming to Montréal

The InfoSec Conference Series BSides is arriving in Montréal and will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Centre PHI in Old Montréal as an in-person eventSubject-matter experts and practitioners, as well as InfoSec enthusiasts, will join the conference to discuss best practices, cybersecurity research, threats, and defences. You can find additional information on this conference in the attached document. 

Tickets will be available on June 1, 2021 on Eventbrite. The tickets are highly limited due to the in-person nature of this event.

Their call for paper is open until July 5th, 2021. This may offer a good opportunity if you have some infosec work that you would like to present to the public.
